Citation
Description The 2009 excavation of the settlement in Hrubá Vrbka - "Za Bařinou" has proved that this site was inhabited in at least two different phases of the La Tene period (Early and Late La Tene period). The most interesting find is represented by fragment of a horned handle with stamped decoration, probably from a Stupava-type bowl with relief appliqué in the form of animal horns. This artefact, which is mainly typical for the Early La Tene period (LT A), was found in a single-room sunken hut 505 dating from the Late to Final La Tene period (LT C-D1). The new find of a horned handle fragment gives evidence that one of the main cultural impulses during the Early La Tene period came to the Moravian territory from a wider area of the Carpatian Basin.
