Description | Masaryk University Language Centre (LC) has recently changed its organizational structure in order to enhance quality of co-operation and communication at various levels of the LC both in terms of simplifying its management and exploiting LC pedagogical expertise. A matrix organizational structure model was chosen for this purpose. The article describes the methods and processes of the structure development and explains in detail its individual layers. It concentrates especially on means that help to develop both internal and external teacher training and to support research via various LC sections and special interest groups. LC staff members’ feedback on the change in LC structure is used to illustrate how these novelties help the teachers in personal and professional development and how sharing know-how, pedagogical expertise as well as hands-on classroom experience is perceived as crucial in case any pedagogical innovation should be established. |
