Description The Prague-Zličín burial ground of the Vinařice group from the Migration Period (situated at the western edge of Prague, along the Hrozenkovská street, dated to the 5th century AD) was excavated between years 2005 and 2008. Detailed anthropological and palaeopathological evaluation was carried out on 113 available skeletons from the total number of 173 graves. In this paper we present the first part of the palaeopathological study which is focused on the joint diseases and traumatic bone changes. Palaeopathological diagnosis was consisted of the detail macroscopic and X-ray examination. The degenerative joint diseases, such as spondylolysis (49.1%; N=53) or arthrosis (37.7 %; N=69) were the most common. The evidence for trauma was discovered in 8.8% (N=113). In the most cases we observed healed fractures, or infraction of bone, one cranial cut injury with evidence of healing, osteochondritis dissecans, spondylolysis or myositis ossificans.
