Description | The cosmine covered lateral extrascapular bone comes from the section of the Famennian Křtiny Limestone (Líšeň Formation), which is exposed at a small pit-quarry near the road leading from Brno-Líšeň to Ochoz at Brno. The presence of cosmine proves the assignment to sarcopterygians. The cosmine histology and the type of medial margin correspond to features known in „osteolepiforms“. The bone represents the first remain of this group in Palaeozoic sequences of the Moravian Karst. |
