Description | The summary of present records of the distribution of large branchiopods (Crustacea: Anostraca, Notostraca, Spinicaudata) within the Znojmo region was published in 2013. From June 2013 to November 2014 new findings were recorded, which significantly enhance this summary. New sites with the occurrence of the shrimps Branchipus schaefferi Fischer 1834, Eubranchipus grubii (Dybowski, 1860), Triops cancriformis (Lamarck, 1801), and Leptestheria dahalacensis (Rüppell, 1837) were found. Two new sites and the occurrence of the larger reproduced population of the clam shrimp Imnadia yeyetta Hertzog, 1935 were confirmed in the surroundings of Hevlín village, which represent the second and third known sites in the Czech Republic. Also the occurrence of the fairy shrimp Streptocephalus torvicornis (Waga, 1842) at the long-term monitored site of the Červený rybníček Natural Monument was confirmed for the first time since 2002. |
