Description | Red clover (T. pratense L.) is one of the most important forage crops in the Czech Republic. For improvement of its low persistence a succesful interspecific hybridization of tetraploid variety Tatra (2n = 4x = 28) and a wild octoploid zigzag clover (T. medium L.; 2x = 8n = 64) was performed. Both species were sequenced using Illumina platform and a bioinformatic analysis of repetitive elements was conducted. A total of 2 and 20 species-specific repetitive elements were validates and localized on chromozomes of red clover and zigzad clover by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH). |
