Description | Metaphor is a common mechanism of lexical creation in both general and specialized language; entire domains of human experience can be projected on other domains and help our understanding of reality (Faber, 2012). This work explores the ways in which the conceptual domain of HUMAN BEING is reflected in the specialized language of agricultural and automotive technology. We analyse the ways in which different components, inner processes and workings of agricultural machines and automobiles are referred to by analogy with the structure and functioning of human organism. |
