Description | Potent effect of laminin in promoting peripheral nerve regeneration is known. The aim of our experiments was to study differences in laminin expression in motor and cutaneous nerve and to compare these data with morphometric analysis of early regeneration of motor axons through motor and cutaneous nerve grafts. In intact nerve, higher expression of laminin 1 was found in cutaneous nerve, but no statistical difference in amount of lamin 1 was found two weeks after nerve injury. These findings are in accordance with morphometric analysis, in which number of axons regenerating through the motor and cutaneous nerve grafts were comparable. |
