Description | Looking back to the current theoretical discourse of education, we find incredibly large corpus of technical manuals, methods and strategies for effective learning. It is impossible to assess which method is preferable for a good education. If we look at the current empirical research on teaching, we see that in frontal teaching pupils receive simple factual questions that correspond to one word, in most cases correctly, and answer their teacher rarely evaluated. The discrepancy between the technical level and the empirical evidence is the result of absentee ideological plane. The lack of educational sciences education metaphor that would combine the two planes and provided the ideological justification. The paper analyzed the dominant metaphor of education as a commodity, which reflects the attitudes of society in the contemporary knowledge-based economy. The aim of the presentation is to show how this metaphor limits of thinking about education (in everyday conversation or scientific theorizing) and start a discussion on how could she look metaphor missing. |
