| Description | There are religions based on movies (such as Matrixism or Jediism), religions based on literature (e.g. Church of All Worlds or based on the work of J.R.R Tolkien), but also several video games have served as a base for inventing religions. This presentation provides (a) an overview of major video game-based religions, their structure and practice, and also (b) tries to figure out what is necessary for a video game to “succeed” in the means of serving as a base for inventing of a religion |
