Description | In his collection of revolutionary profiles „Underground Russia“, Sergei Stepnyak Kravchinsky created a typical image of a terrorist. Narodnaya Volya members having the attributes of heroes whose lives turned into a myth served as a model for the creation archetype of the terrorist revolutionary in literature. Anton Chekhov and Vladimir Korolenko applied other modes – satirical and tragic - of artistic expressions in their literary works dealing with terrorists revolutionaries. In order to disrupt the only way of describing the terrorist revolutionary in literature in the second half of XIX century. The paper deals with the change of mode of artistic expression and how it influenced the description of the character of terrorist revolutionary and contributed to the disruption of the myth. |
