Description | The presented paper deals with the synthesis of conjugated systems consisted from phenyl, thiophene or mixed phenyl and thiophene units, substituted on the ends to create molecules with push-pull delocalized pi-electronic orbital system. The synthesis is based upon application of modern Suzuki-Miyaura coupling reaction. This reaction represents break down in reactivity of halogen at aromatic hydrocarbon. Using aromatic boronic acids in the reaction with halogen containing aromatic skeleton, in the presence of homogenous palladium catalyst and presence of a base, biaryl compound is synthesized. The prepared new compounds underwent examination on their physical-chemical properties. Their UV and fluorescence spectra are presented, cyclic voltammetry was carried out, and basic quantum chemistry calculations are submitted. Based on this data possible application is displayed. |
