Description | Colorectal carcinoma is the third most common cancer worldwide and is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. c-Myb is a transcription factor playing essential role in control of proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. c-Myb overexpression in colorectal cancer is known to be a prognostic indicator for poor prognosis of patients. In this work, we showed that c-Myb is significantly involved in pro-survival signalling pathways and we described a novel signal axis mediating decreased sensitivity of CRC cells to cytotoxic agents and documented for the first time that the prosurvival role of c-Myb is associated with deregulation of reactive oxygen species. |
