| Description | In the fi rst part, the specifi cs of the monitoring mechanism under the European Social Charter are examined; its weaknesses and recent trends are highlighted. Next, the very fi rst collective complaints lodged against the Czech Republic are analysed. Czech Government is facing the expansive interpretation of the Charter by the European Social Rights Committee regarding the explicit ban of the corporal punishment of children. Th e ensuing consequences are discussed next. |
