Description | Development of technologies for users with reading or symbol disorder is neglected due to statistically inconsistent number of users diagnosed across languages, or dependency of the technology on specific language principles. We are developing an application that will allow Czech speaking users with reading disorders to access web information better, which also mean easier socialization and access to education. For such application, we need to determine what the problem in text is for (not only diagnosed) dyslexic users and how we can find it. Therefore, a simple formal methodology for identifying visual similarity of letters is needed. The LAP algorithm introduced in this paper will help to find possible similarity view as users with reading disorders have. The application built upon this will be used for allowing dyslexic users to better access text information from web and also for users with temporary neurological disorders in consequence with a disease, trauma or operation. |
