| Description | The book contributes to the history of modern urban and regional planning. It mainly focuses on eco-friendly tendencies, and the concept of organic modernity serves as an overarching framework. The text starts with the beginnings of modern Czech urban and regional planning, describes its transformation in the interwar period, and examines eco-friendly studies and concepts produced during World War II as well as changes resulting from the introduction of the Communist system of planning and construction. It finally examines the theoretically and practically rich 1960s and ends with the year 1968. The book shows that eco-friendly tendencies in Czech and Slovak urban and regional planning come not only in many forms and variations but also have deep traditions. |
