Description | A common complication of implanted biliary stent is obstruction caused by overgrowing them by tissues, often in a term of a few months after their implantation. This complication can be solved by using of the method of radiofrequency tissue ablation (RF). This heating process can be observed by using contactless thermography method as show this research report. There was monitored dynamics of heating process, the temperature difference between monopole or dipole heating and temperature distribution in tissue or in stent material in ex-vivo experiments. The obtained data can be used for understanding the process of thermal tissue destruction and finally for increase the efficiency and safety of radiofrequency ablation. It was also shown the possibility of further utilization of the infrared thermal imaging camera as a tool for medical imaging. |
