| Description | The chapter summarizes the issue of myeloproliferative disorders in older patients, especially co-called classical bcr/abl negative myeloproliferative disorders – essential thrombocythaemia, polycythaemia vera and primary myelofibrosis. Attention is paid to the diagnosis and differential diagnosis with regard to older age and treatment strategy of these patients. The chapter is supplemented with case report of elderly patient with polycythaemia vera. |
