Description | Busulfan (BU) followed by cyclophosphamide (CY) is commonly used myeloablative conditioning regimen in allogeneic hematopoetic stem cell transplantation, limitation of this approach is non-hematological toxicity. According to some authors, reversed order of CY and BU has got less liver toxicity and better outcomes. Our experience with combination CY/BU in cohort 20 patients with acute myeloid leukemia was presented. Conditioning CY/BU provides combination of effective disease control (90% of complete response) and acceptable toxicity, no case of veno-occlusive disease occured. Event-free survival and overal survival at 2 years from transplantation in our cohort of patients were 62% and 70%, respectively. |
