Description | This paper aims to draw attention to the possibility of using crowdsourcing and participatory GIS tools in the community handle unexpected crises. As a case study we have chosen platform Ushahidi, which enables rapid deployment when necessary and operational data collection in heavily accessible terrain inaccessible for professional cartographers. The paper is theoretically anchored in deeply rooted research of mainly foreign studies and approaches to participatory and community-mapping. Selected case study demonstrates the implementation of the Ushahidi platform and it is located in the city of Uherské Hradiště, where previously delimited risk categories have been mapped. |
