Description | The new Civil Code has significantly decreased the number of so-called pathological- anatomical autopsies. It was due to newly established legal presumption of disagreement with the autopsy. This was in conflict with the regulation in the Law on Health Service. Although this law has already fully respected individual’s right to decide about the treatment of his remains, an unnecessary change was made. An opt-in system was introduced in the new Civil Code which caused problems in clinical practice and resulted in need of amendment. |
