| Description | This thesis deals with a topic that is relative unique in the Czech Republic – the presentation of crime by media. The first goal of this work is to find out whether the pattern of crime depicted in the TV program “Na stopě” differs from the structure of criminality reported by criminal statistics or not, this being examined through a one-year content analysis of the mentioned criminal - journalistic television program. Second goal is to verify the occurrence of news values by the mentioned reports about criminality in the same TV program and time period. The main aim is to determine whether the media pay attention only to selected crimes that fulfill certain factors and thus present only medially interesting types of criminality. |
