| Description | To the 215th anniversary of the death of CH. H. Spieß The article reports on the 215th anniversary of the death of Czech-German romantic writer, actor and playwright, who lived in the last third of the 18th century. It describes his life from birth in Saxony in 1755, his studies and coming to the Bohemia to Prague (after 1770), as well as his studies here, acting in Wahr´s theater group and his literary output. Ch. H. Spieß initially wrote his comedies making knight plays, of which the article discusses in detail the drama Klara von Hoheneichen. He became later acquainted with count Kaspar Herman Künigl and moved to Bezděkov at Klatovy, where he began to write scary novels, of which the article discusses closer the novel Petermännchen. |
