Description Social policy of Czechoslovakia from 1918 was implemented by various entities, of which, besides the state institutions, also the trade unions played a major role, despite their considerable fragmentation. Socio-political activities in that period became a very important part of the overall structure of social life. The research study analyzes especially the following two adopted legal measures: Act on unemployment benefits (so called the Gaunt system) and workers disability and old-age insurance.
