Description | Environmental History forms an important part of modern historiography. Its research is based on the data natural sciences and historical sources provide. Literary works enable an insight into how the issue of the environment was reflected in contemporary thinking. As an example for the period of ancient civilization the author has chosen Seneca, a representative of ancient philosophy and its intermediator for future historical eras. For illustrative purposes, the work Naturales quaestiones has been selected since it is very much concerned with the ideas of functioning of nature. |
