Description The Czech sugar industry experienced extremely dynamic and inconsistent development in the 19th century when success took turns with failury. New and new sugar refineries appeared, however, many of them ceased in tens. Gradually, sugar industry became the most important branch of food processing industry with predominant export focus in Moravia and Silesia (and Bohemia, naturaly). The first part of research study deals briefly with main sugar beet growing areas in Moravia and Silesia, then in describes a period of sugar industry founding in Moravia and Silesia till economic crisis in 1873. Founding period is divided into three periods.
