Description | Created methodology Passive sampling of ambient air is a comprehensive tool for identifying and interpreting of results for selected group of organic chemicals using passive samplers. The methodology includes three parts: a description of the air passive sampler (description, maintenance, preparation, site selection, installation, replacement of PUF disks), laboratory analysis of samples and interpretation of the results. The outputs of the methodology are used for practical observing of long-term trends or organic pollutants in ambient air. The novelty methodology is precisely in complexity of processes which are described in the sections above and it is the outcome of long-term research in Recetox. The methodology is widely used because it contributes to the Concept monitoring or persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and processing and using of data in Czech Republic and the implementation of the Stockholm Convention. Passive sampler using PUF disk is a proven and appropriate tool for continuous monitoring of air. |
