Description Currently the elderly population grow and the younger generation stagnants or very slowly increases. In 2050, the expected proportion of the older generation 65+ in the Czech Republic 33%. It is desirable to old age entered individuals with minimal disease manifested in good condition and retained self-sufficiency. One possible solution is to prevent early the geriatric syndrome. In the prevention plays a key role in health education implemented in primary schools because of old age syndrome prevention begins in childhood (for example the prevention of atherosclerosis and osteoporosis). The Department of Health Education MU start the cooperation with the Department of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Practical Medicine LF MU, with the aim to educate students of Health Education in the prevention of geriatric syndrome. The part of education is also a simulation (Geriatric syndrome simulation model) of physical changes (osteoporosis symptoms, muscle wakness, blindness, deafness, ankle stifness). This experience is leading to greater empathy for people in old age.
