Description | The Czech Republic is still missing psychometrically validated test to identify exceptional mathematical talent. For this reason we have developed a Test for Identifying Gifted Students in Mathematics (TIM), which is designed to measure above-average mathematical abilities of students in 3rd to 5th grade. In this paper we outline a comprehensive process of its development and we point out the possible use of the test in the schools and the PPP. In the end, we will think together with workshop participants about the possible definition of mathematical creativity and talent and introduce the preliminary results of qualitative research of implicit teachers' ideas about these two constructs, which we compare with the content of the test TIM. |
