| Description | This invited lecture provides a pragma-linguistic overview of the genre of live sports reporting in mainstream online newspapers. It isolates several forms of audience participation and makes a case for treating "live text commentary" as a new genre of media communication that has quickly adopted its place in the media landscape. |
