Description The article presents the results of the analysis of the needs of basic foods for residents of South Moravia region. The analysis performed is based on a calculation of the fulfillment of energy intake per person per day. The population was divided by sex and age to determine the energy value of food intake through the use of basic foods. Observed data can serve as a relevant basis for the fulfillment of the food sufficiency.
