Description | The aim of the presentation is to answer the question “What is a moral intuition?” While this term has become prominent in empirically oriented study of morality over the last 15 years, there’s no apparent consensus about what it exactly refers to. The unfortunate consequence of this is a conceptual confusion. Through the careful analysis of various ways in which this term is defined or used by various researchers, I will show what we should actually want from a good definition of moral intuition – that is, to which questions it should provide us with answers. Based on these questions, I will propose my own hybrid definition of moral intuition. |
