Description | Background: The research goal of this study is to assess the psychometric properties of the Czech adaptation of Short Grit Scale and Hope Scale. This included the item analysis, verifying reliability as an internal consistency of scales and factorial validity. Method: The sample consisted of 338 respondents from Czech Republic, 209 (61.8%) women and 129 (38.2%) men in the age 15-76 years (M = 28.39, sd = 10.5). Data analysis was performed in SPSS 19. Results: The results show satisfactory internal consistency and factorial validity of the Czech adaptations of scales. Cronbach's alpha for the Grit Scale is 0.78, 0.84 for the Hope Scale. The number of factors corresponds to the theoretical background of both methods. Conclusions: The contribution of this study is to provide two psychometrically validated methods of positive psychology, including pilot normative data. |
