Description | Malignant tumors of soft tissues represent a heterogeneous group of malignancies less numerous. Material and methods: Data analysis of the National Cancer Registry of the Czech Republic. Results: Data from the National Cancer Registry, the mean annual incidence of malignant tumors of soft tissues in the last available 5-year period, 442 newly diagnosed cases (slightly higher in the female population than the male population) incidence and prevalence of disease in the population of the Czech Republic is steadily increasing. Soft tissue sarcomas occur in all age groups in the population, but dominated elderly patients (mean age of patients 62 years of age). Relative survival of treated patients evaluated at a population level over time continues to improve. Conclusion: Despite the positive trends of treatment results of patients with malignant soft tissue tumors remains desirable levels of diagnosis and treatment in specialized centers. |
