Description | Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has been recognised as the life-saving and unreplaceable therapeutic procedure in patients with symptomatic aortic stenoses and high clinical risk for operation (aortic valve replacement - AVR) and/or its contraindication. TAVI is associated also with very good clinical results in patients with moderate risk and in patients with degenerated biological valve after AVR. A proper patients' selection and procedural technique provided by the interdisciplinary „heart team“ represents a crucial background for successful patients' treatment. |
