| Description | Aspects of traditional folk culture become an integral part of cultural heritage in the Central European countries. On the Czecho-Slavonic Ethnographic Exhibition (1895) were laid foundations of phenomenon that came to be known as folklorism, which was further developed and participated in social and cultural life. In the 20th century, because of the political development consequences in Czechoslovakia, the approach to folk culture was changed. Czech society takes various, often ambivalent stance on it. The objective of this publication is to provide analysis of the different forms of use (and misuse) of folk culture, since the late 19th century to the present day. The analysis concerns the sphere of folklorism, folk art production and building manifestations, which includes especially folk architecture and its protection and revitalization. |
