Description | Nowadays, knowing and using foreign languages is a must. Both learners and teachers are seeking for the best possible ways to reach the goal of mastering a language. Using language learning strategies (LLS) (specific actions taken by the learner to make learning easier, faster, more enjoyable, more self-directed, more effective, and more transferable to new situations) is one of the main factors that determine how well a language is learnt. This research has been designed to look into LLS in a specific group of people, who have been so far overlooked by researches – the blind. Noticeably, the European Commission introduced an action plan to promote language learning and linguistic diversity in 2003, one of the main objectives of which is developing language learning for persons with special needs. |
