Description | Pulmonary embolism (PE) in the elderly means an immediate threat of life. Especially in very old age clinical signs of PE are non-specific and could be both underdiagnosed and overdiagnosed. The significant share of the PE hospitalized patients is a group of people of advanced age (between 25-50%). |
