Description | The modernist architecture of Zlín is the icon of Czech interwar industrial success. Bata houses, the same not only in Zlín, but also in Zruč, Otrokovice, sunshine and elsewhere, represent a specific type of cultural heritage. The city represents the almost perfectly preserved functionalist urban design. In the amteria of the city is embodied the idea of interwar Scheduler, which drew not only houses, streets and quarters, but also the life in them. Zlin is more than an architectural and urban attraction, it represents the modernist principle of thinking about the world in which the man, the construction and planning create a harmonious and functional whole. The aim of the lecture is to show that to plan and built a city means also to plan a society and a standard (working) man. |
