Description | Within the European Union there is no uniform social insurance system but a total of 28 national systems within the entire community. Selected social risks are covered in the European social systems largely through a system of continuing funding. The individual social states differ in respect of the social risk coverage in terms of the scope of coverage, premium collection, amount of benefits, insurance period, and benefit entitlement. The objective of this paper is to highlight the effect of the financial and economic crisis on the insurance premium collection and determine whether this crisis resounds in fiscal expenditure on certain risks. The CR will be compared with France as a representative of a generous social welfare state. Both countries are undergoing partial reforms that should contribute to a higher efficiency of the social system funding. |
