Description | Japanese rhythm hiranori in Noh is a specific combination of an odd syllabic rhythm and a 12-beat quantitative metre. The latter has a parallel in the Indian and Hellenistic quantitative metres in Central Asia where these could penetrate into the Mahayana ritual, similarly to the Hellenistic sculpture, and cross China to ultimately reach Japan. |
