In the Latin epigraphical evidence mainly curse tablets use the comparative clause introduced by quomodo – sic, quemadmodum – sic rarely also ita uti - sic in the so called simile formula, which is acting upon analogy, which is nowadays well attested from all provinces of the Roman Empire. This contribution pursue the phonetic-phonological, functional and semantic development of the Latin comparative conjunction quomodo. |
