Description The valley of the Třebůvka River between the municipalities Městečko Trnávka and Loštice (Central Moravia, Czech Republic) has been poorly known in a phytosociological sense. Therefore, a field survey was led and vegetation of the site Babí skála near the village Jeřmaň is described in this study. The site is a steep rocky slope above the Třebůvka River built up by acidic Paleozoic shales; it is covered mainly by well-preserved deciduous forests. Dominant forest vegetation types are acidophilous oak forests, mesophilous (association Luzulo-Quercetum), semithermophilous (Viscario-Quercetum) and thermophilous (Sorbo torminalis-Quercetum) ones. On the slope basis, scree forests dominated by noble deciduous trees (Aceri-Tilietum) are growing. Primary shrub vegetation is represented by scrubs of Cotoneaster integerrimus that can be found on the tops of some rock outcrops (Junipero-Cotoneasteretum integerrimi). Among the non-forest vegetation an acidophilous rock vegetation from the alliance Asplenion septentrionalis is the most important. The most remarkable species in the flora of the locality are the light-demanding (Arabidopsis arenosa, Carex rhizina and Cotoneaster integerrimus) and thermophilous (e.g. Polygonatum odoratum and Vincetoxicum hirundinaria) ones.
