Description This lecture explains the story of how architecture in CZechoslovakia of the 1950s was recognized as an ideological tool promoting social change. Architecture at this time helped to legitimized the dominant political ideology. The lecture explained where inspiration for new projects was searched for, and how the rules were set for architectural practice. At the same time, this presentation avoided schematic explanation of architecture in socialist CZechoslovakia as homogenous during the 4 decades of the state socialism.
