Description Teteo ixiptlatin ("images of the gods" / "living gods") are special type of Nahua (Aztec) victims for human sacrifice. The function of those rituals where teteo ixiptlatin are present were examined during the presentation. These rituals were compared to the Hindu ritual of Kavadi Attam regarding the community bonding effect of high-ordeal rituals. And the hypothesis was presented that all sacrifices of teteo ixiptlatin were actually perceived as in-group sacrifices, however victims were chosen among war captives.
