Description The aim of this paper is to show a new perspective, how the debate between proponents of narrative theory of personal identity and its opponents could be seen. I will sketch this debate and try to identify the main point, where the dissent may lay. Afterwards I will show, how this conflict could be seen from the perspective of the brain hemisphere asymmetry. From this position I will argue mainly against the claim of narrative theory, that more explicit parts of personal narrative belong more to the owner than the implicit parts.
