Description | Hydnellum cumulatum was known in the Czech Republic from one record in 1960. Consequently, it has been considered a missing species in recent years. However, in the period 2012–2014 the authors recorded it on 9 microlocalities grouped into 6 larger localities, namely in the Šumava Mts., Novohradské podhůří foothills and the Českomoravská vrchovina highland. The paper provides a description of its diagnostic characters, above all the radially striate to venose margin of mature basidiomata and small, subglobose to broadly ellipsoid, finely spinose-verrucose spores. Also habitat conditions of all localities including phytosociological relevés, and the European distribution are described. |
