Description | The study researches on children cinema culture shortly after the WWII. Two groups of schoolmates were researched, from strongly different social milieu. The key factors influencing the reception of individual movies, as well as the cinema as a space and as a kind of social activity, were the institutions of family, school, and church. These institutions mediated between the children cinemagoers, on one side, and the film culture, on the other side. The specificity of children s film culture in the first post-war years was shaped by predictability of the entertainment value of movies, as well as of the cinemas as social spaces. Acceptability of the space of cinema was, however, defined by school and family. This acceptability was strongly influenced by social differenciation of the city. |
