| Description | The aim of my PhD work is to map the policy of the state towards the church in 1980's. I seek to examine the premise, that the state policy towards the churches was clear, top-down and smoothly implemented in cooperation with all involved actors. Moreover, as a study of one of a policy domain, I investigate both to what degree the regime rhetorics were in accord with its deeds and how the regime was able to translate its words into deeds. In other words, I am interested in the creation process of policy towards the churches and in the ability and willingness of the state and party apparatus to implement it. Research questions of my PhD work are following: What was the matter of the policy towards the churches and who set it up? Who were the agents of the policy and what were their mutual relations? What was the implementation of the policy like? Had it fulfilled its aim? |
