| Description | In this chapter we pay homage to Michel Tournier, important French creator of adventure novels also dedicated to young readers, who died in January 2016. The study is especially focused to novels Vendredi ou la Vie sauvage (1971) and Les Rois mages (1985), rewritten from adults versions Vendredi ou les Limbes du Pacifique (1967) and Gaspard, Melchior & Balthazar (1980). The Tournier's characters present to young people some literary or historical figures become myths and their culture. We research the art of this author, master of rewriting and intertextuality, how he modified space and time in mentioned novels to be easy accessible to the young readers. |
